This view shows a massing that is simple but evokes great strength and stability. The entrances and rose window evoke Medieval precedents but use a more modern geometry. The geometry itself does have precedents in the early 20th century Art Deco period, though tending toward the austere where that period was sometimes more florid. The overall concrete massing would be accentuated by ashlar stone surrounds at each major entry, with ornament and statuary carved into the stone surround.
