PAPA is under contract to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Alexandria, VA, to develop concept plans for a new Mary Garden in an existing outdoor space between the church and school buildings. In collaboration with Sacred Spaces Liturgical Design Studio, PAPA developed the design based on the early Christian and medieval cloister gardens of churches such as St. Paul's Outside the Walls in Rome, Italy. PAPA has completed presentation boards for the purpose of raising awareness and funds for the project. It is anticipated that PAPA will be engaged to complete the design and documentation of the project, and to assist the church in construction contract administration. As well as collaborating in a partnership with PAPA and the church on the design of the garden, Sacred Spaces will provide the benches, fountain and other site furnishings and provide complete installation of the garden, so that together PAPA and Sacred Spaces are able to offer a turn-key project to the church.
