Tradition - Lalibella - 12th / 13thC Ethiopean Churches

PAPA is grateful to Alvaro Manoel for sharing these pictures with us from his trip to Lalibella. These churches give us a picture of Christianity 800 years ago, and inspire us with the passion and conviction it must have taken to hew them out of the solid rock (11 churches in all). Legend has it that all 11 were carved out of the rock in a 25 year time span.
