Michael Patrick was the Design Director for programming, planning, feasibility study and cost estimate for a 62,000 sf addition to the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, on the Grounds of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia with a new library and legal center. The project helped the University to locate the addition to minimize construction phase disruption, maximize connectivity to existing JAG and campus, and achieve buy-in from other University stakeholders, including adjacent UVA Law School and the President's office. The team performed a thorough program analysis and developed a preferred building massing, building location and cost estimate for the project. The selected site not only satisfies the program, but also creates improved internal circulation connections, and a series of beautiful and useful outdoor courtyard spaces. Project is currently in Federal and State funding cycle before proceeding to final design and construction. Project images are confidential.
