This Franciscan Friary was designed to reflect the trinitarian aspect of our own humanity: our bodies, minds and souls. The refectory and friars' cells form a spine representing the bodily aspect of our existence. The library (a square) is a metaphorical representation of the order of the mind. The cylindrical Chapel both represents, and serves as, the soul of the complex.
